I went to Walgreens last night to buy a few things. I arrived and went about my shopping business. About half-way through checking out my items, a guy came up in line behind me. When he saw the stack of coupons I had handed the cashier, he let out a very loud curse word. I turned around to look at him, in disbelief, and he just shook his head at me. I was very polite and didn’t say anything. I thanked the cashier and walked away. As I was walking away I heard him mumble “It couldn’t have been that bad.” I assume he was talking about the prices of the items before coupons. That was my first memorable encounter with a disgruntled customer behind me in line. Oh well. Anyway, I ended up saving $22.78 after coupons and sales, so I am not at all bothered by his actions.
I only did one transaction and here is what I did:
1 Physician’s Formula concealer, $3.79
1 Ricola cough drops, $1.00
1 LaCross double lash curler, $6.79
1 LaCross lighted tweezers, $9.99
1 Maybelline lipstick, $2.19
$0.50 off any Ricola product, mftr coupon
$1.00 off any Physician’s Formula product, mftr coupon
$1.00 off any LaCross Product, mftr peelie
Buy 1, Get 1 Free LaCross product
$2.00 off Maybelline lipstick
Received $3.00 off coupon for any Neutrogena product
Received $1.00 Register Reward for buying Ricola cough drops
Total OOP: $13.46
While the LaCross lighted tweezers seems a bit frivolous, I bought it as a birthday gift for my mother next week! No, I would not normally buy tweezers as a gift, but she had previously told me that she wanted exactly that.
