Cheap Orbit Gum + ECB Deal

Orbit Gum

CVS is running an ExtraCare Bucks promotion this week involving Easter Candy. The deal goes like this: Buy $10 worth of Easter candy and you will receive $3 ECB’s.

Well, my favorite part about ECB deals that require a certain dollar amount be purchased is that it doesn’t have to all be purchased in the same trip, just throughout the same week!

As for the cheap Orbit Gum… the 3-packs are on sale for $1.50 this week at CVS, combine that with the $1 printable coupon for any Orbit multipack, and you have yourself 3 packs of gum for only $0.50!

UPDATE: Coupon no longer available, but if you had already printed it now is the time to use it!

It gets better… the Orbit Gum multipacks are apart of the Easter Candy deal! I didn’t realize this until after I looked at my receipt when I got home today.

I bought two multipacks of gum, used two $1 off coupons, paid only $1 out-of-pocket for the two packs of gum, and am $3 closer to the $10 minimum to earn $3 ECB’s!!

What is your favorite flavor of Orbit gum?

How I Use ExtraCare Bucks

CVS

A note on how I spend my ECB’s: I will only spend as many ECB’s as I earn so I won’t ever “lose” ExtraBucks. But if I can whiddle my total down with coupons so I don’t have to use as many ECB’s as I’m earning, then I “earn” ExtraBucks.

For example, if a bottle of shampoo costs $3.00, but you earn $3.00 ECB’s when you buy it, then I justify using $3.00 ECB’s on that shampoo when I buy it. But if I have a coupon for that shampoo, say $1.00 off, then my total would only be $2.00, so I only have to spend $2.00 ECB’s, but I still earn the $3.00 ECB’s. That is how you make ExtraBucks, essentially making money (ECB’s are as good as cash at CVS!).

CVS Trip 01/03/10

CVS

I had an absolutely fantastic trip to CVS this week! While I did reduce my ECB amount, I am still completely satisfied with what I bought:

2 – Colgate Total Whitening, $2.50 each
4 – All Laundry Detergent, $3.99 each
1 – GE Energy Smart Lightbulb, 1 ct, $2.99
5 – Schick Razors, 2 ct, $1.29 each

Coupons:
$1.00 off Colgate, mftr coupon
$0.75 off Colgate, mftr coupon
4 – $2.00 off All Detergent, mftr coupon
$1.00 off GE Lightbulb, mftr coupon
3 – $2.00 off Schick Razors, mftr coupon
2 – $1.00 off Schick Razors, mftr coupon
$5 off $25 coupon, received by email
$8.00 ECB from last week

Received:
$2.00 ECB, 2 Colgate toothpastes
$2.00 ECB, GE Energy Smart lightbulb

ARV: $30.40
Total OOP: $0.20
Savings: $30.20, 99.3%

If you check my math by adding up items cost minus coupons and ECB’s, then it does not come out to $0.20. That is because the cashier only took off $0.45 from one of the $2.00 off Schick coupons. This is because the register alerted her of the overage and told her to only take off $0.45. But I still got all of the Schick razors free.

Also, I was going to do the Nivea deal, but my CVS was already out of the body wash.

My camera dock is on the fritz, so I will have a picture tomorrow.

Free Dawn & Ivory Soaps at CVS

2009-12-30

I scored a couple of freebies at CVS today. Here is what I bought:

- 2 Ivory Soap, 3 pk, $0.99 sale
- 1 Dawn Dish Soap, $0.99 sale

- 2 $1.00 off Ivory soap pack
- 1 $1.00 off Dawn Hand Renewal

ARV: $2.97
Total OOP: $0.00
Savings: $2.97, 100%

My CVS did not carry the Dawn Hand Renewal, so I asked if they would substitute the regular Dawn dish soap, and they did!

I also scanned my ExtraCare Card at their Price Scanner Machine and received the following coupons:

- $1.00 off any 2 Gold Emblem (CVS Brand) Candy Items
- $2.00 off any CVS Brand purchase of $10.00 or more

Neither of these coupons says that I can’t use them together, so since Gold Emblem is a CVS brand, I definitely plan on using them together!
