FREE Crave Cat Treats with Coupon

There was a coupon for a FREE package of Crave Cat Treats in this past Sunday’s coupon inserts (RP 9/18), up to a $1.59 value.

These have been spotted at Walmart, so either score you some free cat treats or consider donating them to a local animal shelter.

Christmas Layaway at Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart is bringing back Layaway just for the holiday season, but with some requirements and exclusions.

You can begin putting items on layaway on October 17, and final payment and pick-up of items must be made by December 16. Items may not be added on Friday, November 25.

Only toys and electronics are eligible. Excludes wireless phones that require contracts.

A down payment of 10% or more must be made. Total purchase must be at least $50, with each item being at least $15.

Layaway only applies to purchases made in-store, not online.

There will be a $5 service charge for using layaway. You can get full details here.

In my opinion, it would be easier to shop on Amazon using gift cards earned for free from Swagbucks. But that is just me.

Walmart: New CrowdSaver Program

Walmart is getting on the “group buying” bandwagon. They have introduced CrowdSaver on Facebook. To start, you will need to “like” Walmart on Facebook, then click on the CrowdSaver tab at the top. If you like the particular deal they are offering, then you will need to “like” the deal as well.

It looks like they offer a new deal every week. And if enough people like the deal, then you will need to come back later in the week to be able to purchase it.

This week’s deal is an Element 42″ Plasma TV with Wall Mount for $398.00, which is 18% off.

This is from Walmart’s Facebook page:
“The Crowd Saver price is only available if the required number of “like” votes is met. This threshold of required votes may vary for each Crowd Saver item. Each customer may only vote to “like” an item once. Crowd Saver prices are only available at Walmart.com. Each customer may purchase only one item at the Crowd Saver price while supplies last. The price is available until we sell out of the item online.”

Watch When Scanning Coupons!

I was making my monthly see-what-I-can-get-free-with-coupons trip at Target today. So, I collected my items and went to check-out. Some of my items were the Shout Wipes, 4 count, for $0.97 each. I brought 8 of them to the check-out counter and proceeded to use 4 $2/2 coupons.

When the cashier scanned my coupons, they only took off $0.97! The manager was called over and told me that those coupons really weren’t supposed to be used on those items. I then explained to her that the coupon did not specify size restrictions. The manager then said, “Well our register’s know it’s not supposed to be for that item so it will only take off $0.97.” I then politely told her that I did not want to purchase those items.

I purchased the rest of my items and headed to Wal-Mart. They also carry the Shout Wipes, 4 count, in the travel section for $0.97 each. I picked up 8 of them and headed to the check-out with my 4 $2/2 coupons. I let the cashier know that my coupons may need manager approval and he had no problem with it.

Much to my delight, the coupons scanned at Wal-Mart with NO PROBLEMS! (Only asking if the coupon was a valid amount).  I also give credit to the cashier for knowing how to answer the question: Valid coupon amount?

So… make sure you watch when the cashier scans your coupons to make sure the correct amount is taken off!

Also, note that I did not solely go to Wal-Mart just for the Shout Wipes. I also went for some freebies that Target did not carry:
Olay Body Wash (travel), $0.97
-Use $1/1 any Olay Body Wash

Post-It Super Sticky Notes, single pack, $1.00
-Use $1/1 any Super Sticky Notes

Gain Dish Liquid, 11 oz, $0.97
-Use $1/1 any Gain Dish Liquid

$3.02 Profit When You Buy Toy Story 1 & 2!

Toy-Story-1-2-bd

Yay! I, rather my daughter (but I love them too!), got my copies of Toy Story 1 & 2 in the Blu-ray/DVD combo packs!

Since I am still out of town and the nearest Toys R Us is about 45 minutes away, I took the Toys R Us ad to Wal-Mart and did a price match! I bought both copies (1 & 2), showed them the ad that stated if you bought both then they are $16.99 each and they honored it! Plus I used my $10 off coupons (one for each movie) that I got from Disney Movie Rewards!

When I got home, I got the Disney Movie Rewards codes (125 pts each) and entered them online and I was able to print out my vouchers for free tickets to see Toy Story 3 when it comes out in June! Now I just have to keep up with them until then : )

So to sum up… $13.98 for both Toy Story 1 & 2, plus $17.00 in movie vouchers to see Toy Story 3! $3.02 profit!

One thing to keep in mind, some Wal-Mart stores may consider this a “gimmick” ad since the price is different when you buy 2, rather than just buying 1. If that is the case, I would just politely thank them and leave without buying the movies there, then truck it on over to Toys R Us!
