Grocery Stores
Many deals can be found at grocery stores. I am only familiar with Randall’s, Target, and Wal-Mart. I will explain as thoroughly as possible how to save as much money as you can at those stores, as well as, provide price matching and coupon policies.
Randall’s
Randall’s is apart of the Safeway system. So if you don’t have a Randall’s nearby, but do have a Safeway, Carrs, Dominick’s, Genuardi’s, Tom Thumb, or Vons, the deals at Randall’s can likely be found there as well.
There are absolutely fantastic savings to be had at Randall’s!! The first thing I want to point out is that my Randall’s triple coupons up to and including $0.39 and they double coupons up to and including $0.50! If you have more than one of the same coupon, they will only double or triple the first coupon; the rest they will take at face value. Check with your store to find out their policy on doubling and tripling coupons. Go HERE to read about Randall’s coupon policy concering printable coupons, and to see what a valid printed coupon looks like.
Randall’s also offers store coupons that can be stacked with manufacturer coupons. These store coupons sometimes can be hard to find, but they are there! Usually, in my experience, they have come in the form of coupon booklets found throughout the store. They can also be found in the Randall’s ad each week, which runs Wednesday through Tuesday. Store coupons usually require a minimum purchase before you can use them, which is why I hand over the store coupons first. You can view the Randall’s ad each week online HERE.
Yet another way to save at Randall’s is to have a Randall’s Remarkable Card. This really will save you tons just using the card alone, but if you go HERE you can load e-coupons directly onto your Randall’s card that can be used in addition to the paper coupons you hand over to the cashier. Also go to Cellfire and Shortcuts to load additional e-coupons onto your Randall’s card. Also, if you have a Randall’s Remarkable Card, swipe it at a Randall’s gas station to save a few cents off per gallon! Again, check with your store to make sure they participate.
Randall’s also participates in the Catalina program, which are those coupons that print out of a separate machine beside the register. For example, March is Frozen Food Month, so all this month at Randall’s, if you buy $25 worth of specified frozen food (before coupons), then a $10 OYNO (off your next order) Catalina will print out that you can use on your next transaction at Randall’s.
Target
Target is a fantastic place to save money, and be sure to remember they now offer price matching. You must go to Customer Service to do price matching deals though. Target offers store coupons as well, which can be stacked with manufacturer coupons. They list their price matching policy online HERE, which states that you can use manufacturer coupons with price matching. View Target’s coupon policy HERE.
So here is how a price matching deal with coupons would work: Go to Customer Service and show them the ad that has the low price. If you have any store coupons, you must hand them over first. If the advertised price is still lower after using the store coupons, they will price match the ad. Then you can use the manufacturer coupons.
Target also offers a way to print their store coupons from your own printer HERE. There is a limit of two prints per coupon, but be sure to print them all because you never know when a great deal will come along! Their store coupons can also be found in the Sunday paper coupon inserts, so be on the look out for them there as well.
You can also receive Target gift cards when you purchase certain products or spend a certain amount of money. For example, spend $20 (before coupons) on certain products, and you will receive a $5 Target gift card.
Also, when you bring in reusable shopping bags, Target will offer you 5 cents off your grocery bill for every bag you bring in.
Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart usually already has pretty low prices, so when you combine price matching and coupons on top of that, you can really save money there. Wal-Mart does not offer store coupons, but they will accept manufacturer coupons on top of price matching. You can find Wal-Mart’s coupon policy HERE.
Price matching can be done at any regular check-out lane. Just be sure to show the cashier the lower-priced ad whenever they are ringing up that particular item. You can find Wal-Mart’s price matching policy HERE.
Here is how I usually do a price matching deal at Wal-Mart: I save the items that need to be price matched until the end. When the cashier picks up an item, I show them the ad; they manually adjust the price. After they are finished with all of the price match offers, I then hand the cashier my coupons one at a time. I do this for two reasons, first, to make sure I bought those items, and two, to make sure coupons don’t stick together so coupons won’t be skipped while scanning them.
